- Manage a Risk and Compliance function across transformation work, BAU and regulatory change.

Reporting to the CRO, you will work closely with the risk leadership team, business heads and Board to implement an industry leading Risk Management framework and an effective compliance program working with the relevant regulatory bodies. You will also be responsible for:
- Lead and manage a team of risk and compliance professionals, ensuring the smooth operation of the function.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance risk and compliance capabilities within the organisation.
- Provide strategic insights and guidance to the business, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Contribute to maintaining the Risk Profile, including Compliance Obligations, and analyse and report on risk exposures.
- Ensure timely resolution of audit issues and fostering a risk-aware culture
- Lead the strategic roll out of assurance reviews over Business continuity, resilience, cyber, supplier risk, and privacy activities, updating the approach as required.
- Partner with Line 1 to provide specialist advice across projects and key business initiatives.
- Stay abreast of upcoming regulatory changes impacting the business to enable ongoing compliance management.
Skills and Experience
This is a senior leadership role so a blend of leadership and technical skills across Risk and Compliance will set you up for success.
You’ll bring a commercial pragmatism with the ability to technically challenge in a respectful and knowledgeable way. Be able to anchor to a position/opinion but also able to move from it depending on business needs.
- Strong understanding of the Australian regulatory landscape (i.e. APRA, ASIC)
- Proven experience in a senior risk or compliance role within the banking, financial services, or professional services sectors.
- Experience in leading and developing teams, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to provide valuable insights and guidance to the business.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to work up to board and committee level.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and high-performance environment.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and capable of driving change in a complex business.
