  • $145k package (base + super) | Flexible working, well-being benefits and career development pathways
The Role

This role sits within the Client Commitments team, one of five specialist teams that make up a truly global in-house Risk and Compliance function. You will operate like in-house counsel, working at pace covering all client terms and compliance queries across multiple jurisdictions and functions.

Day to day, you will triage incoming work, identify the relevant specialist team (which may include Conflicts, Information Governance, Compliance Incident Management or Financial Crime), and manage your own stream of contract reviews end to end. You will negotiate directly with partners and clients to reach commercial agreements, with a strong understanding of the firm's risk appetite and strategy.

This is a fast-paced role with high volume and variety. The learning curve is steep and intentional, and the team values people who back themselves, ask questions early and engage confidently across all levels.

What skills and experience will you need:
  • Admitted lawyer, Australian, US or UK-qualified considered.
  • Solid experience in commercial contract review, drafting and negotiation, gained in private practice, in-house or a combination of both.
  • Commercially minded with the ability to balance legal risk against business pragmatism. Experience with law firm engagement terms or outside counsel guidelines is a genuine advantage.
  • Adaptable and confident. You initiate, you ask questions, you don't suffer in silence. You know your strengths and are comfortable saying when you need support.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and comfortable engaging with partners, senior stakeholders and clients across a globally distributed team.
  • Able to work at pace, prioritise competing deadlines and manage a high-volume workload independently.
  • Experience in risk, compliance or legal counsel roles is advantageous
Benefits
  • 12-month contract with genuine aspiration for the role to become permanent as headcount grows.
  • Flexible work options and hybrid arrangements.
  • Health and well-being benefits including gym membership and corporate health plans.
  • Genuine career development pathways including secondment and global mobility opportunities.
  • Strong commitment to social impact through volunteering, pro-bono work, and award-winning social inclusion programs.
  • A collaborative, high-calibre culture within a globally recognised firm.
