Ink Recruitment are proud to be partnering with a leading Financial Services firm who are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Risk to join their team initially on an interim basis but with the opportunity to move into a permanent role.
Lead the Op Risk and Compliance Line 2 advisory and assurance team to both ensure effective oversight and management of op risk and compliance in BAU whilst supporting implementation of ongoing areas of uplift being embedded by the Program team.
Key deliverables include:
- Establish operating rhythms and practices to embed a growing line 2 NFR function - focus on development of core capabilities through maturing line 1 risk and target state
- Implement and embed line 2 assurance program, including Line 2 oversight of IT, Cyber and Data
- Advisory and oversight of delivery risk and risk in change of key strategic programs of work
- Oversee embedding of obligations management uplift and any key programs of reg change including AML/CTF reforms and Scams Prevention Framework
- Mature the Line 2 practice with respect to issues and incident management, root cause analysis, thematic reviews
- Support Line 2 oversight and coordination of outsourced internal audit function
- Senior lead for functional areas to interface with Risk Uplift Program to ensure solutions fit for purpose and integrated and embedded in a sustainable way
- Lead and oversee management and board NFR reporting is fit for purpose with quality Line 2 analysis and insights
- Work with Group Risk and Compliance leadership team to drive a high performing and engaged function to ensure integrated risk management approach that drives business value
- Develop sound business knowledge and trusted senior stakeholder relations to ensure fit for purpose advice and review and challenge to strengthen operational resilience and timely response to emerging risks.
- Solid understanding of CPS230 and intended outcomes over time
- Senior experienced candidate who can hold their own with executives and seasoned in presenting to EXCO/Board level audiences
- Demonstrated experience in risk transformation and change management approaches, including uplifting risk culture
- Experience adapting frameworks to different entities to ensure fit for purpose
- Broad coverage/knowledge across related legislation for ADI especially prudential but also AML/KYC, ASIC etc in compliance space
- Has built a team from ground up
- Examples of being hands up – demonstrates doing vs knowing
- Track record in managing managers – approach to leadership, coaching and mentoring; enterprise leadership as SLT and as part of Risk LT
- Risk operating models, capability and capacity modelling
- Demonstrates knowledge of emerging risks and is up to speed on legislation
- Experience dealing with regulators
- Experience in M&A a plus (integration planning and readiness for risk frameworks and governance to ensure adequate oversight of a new combined entity from day 1).
- Expect candidates will either have an op risk or compliance background - favour op risk; experience in integrated frameworks in this regard though
