Role
As the CTP Technical Claims Specialist, you will provide technical oversight and strategic direction for the CTP claims portfolio. This role is not hands-on claims management but focuses on governance, ensuring best practices in claims handling, compliance, and financial performance. You’ll act as the key liaison between the internal team and the third-party claims provider, ensuring claims are managed effectively and in line with regulatory and legislative requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical oversight of CTP claims processes, including liability decisions, contributory negligence, and reserving strategies.
- Review targeted claims and monitor for potential claims leakage.
- Oversee claims strategies, settlement preparations, and outcomes, including engagement with legal providers.
- Manage disputes and complaints, including those involving regulatory bodies such as the Personal Injury Commission and CTP Assist.
- Deliver claims handling reviews, including qualitative analysis and performance improvement opportunities.
- Conduct independent file reviews, evaluate claims strategies, and provide feedback to the claims team.
- Analyze claims data and reporting to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including IT, pricing, actuarial, finance, and compliance teams, to support the CTP product portfolio.
- Represent the company at industry forums and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in CTP claims management.
- Strong working knowledge of CTP schemes, including regulatory and legislative requirements.
- High levels of technical competence and attention to detail.
- Experience analysing claims data and identifying trends or risks.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proactive, inquisitive, and passionate about improving processes and outcomes.
- Legal knowledge or experience with common law claims is highly regarded but not essential.
